The Tool: Vipon
Jonathan introduces Vipon, a coupon and deal site where sellers list products with promo codes to boost their sales rankings. This setup benefits both the seller (who gets more sales activity) and you, the buyer (who gets the product at a discount).
But here’s the key: not every “deal” is a good deal. Jonathan explains how he cross-checks prices on Amazon and compares similar products to make sure the savings are real.
Example 1: Toothbrush Heads
- Amazon price: Philips Sonicare toothbrush heads – 3 for $32 ($10+ each).
- Vipon price: Off-brand 12-pack for $7.49.
By comparing prices, Jonathan confirmed the coupon was worth it—saving big without sacrificing usability.
Example 2: Magnet Tiles
Magnet tiles are a popular kids’ toy, but prices vary widely. Jonathan found:
- A 44-piece set for $15 – a solid deal compared to smaller sets that cost more per piece.
- A 105-piece set for $20 – but upon closer inspection, many of the “pieces” were filler items like animals or trees.
The lesson: always check what’s included so you’re comparing apples to apples.
Other Finds
Jonathan also looked at rechargeable batteries and other everyday items—reminding us that this tool works best for commodities where brand loyalty isn’t critical.

A coupon tool like Vipon can save you a lot of money on everyday purchases—but only if you double-check prices and product details. As Jonathan put it:
“You still want to make sure you’re not buying something that’s half off, but was already 70% overpriced.”
